Services

• 3 prenatal visits (depending on when services are begun in your pregnancy) where we’ll get to know each other and explore how I will assist and support you.
  • We will discuss your pregnancy, your wishes and preferences for labor and the birth of your baby as well as your dreams, plans, ideas and fears as we develop your birth plan.
  • I will answer, to the best of my knowledge, any questions you may have or facilitate that information to you.
  • I will conduct 1 or more classes, if you want them, to provide relevant information on childbirth, parenting and what to expect after baby is here.
  • We will discuss what is active labor, what to do, what to bring to the hospital or have at hand, comfort measures, pain relieve and coping methods.
  • We will practice some of those comfort measures and find out what you and your partner feel most comfortable with and how I can make that journey easier for you.
• Unlimited phone or email support.
• 24 hour availability for the two weeks surrounding your estimated due date until your baby is born.
• When your labor begins, I will join you at a time and place mutually agreed to and remain with you throughout your labor and delivery.
• I will support your birth plan and ensure it is carried out as closely as possible by creating the necessary conversations between you and the medical staff.
• I will stay with you and your family up to two hours after the birth of your baby. During this time, I will assist you with breastfeeding (if that is your choice), taking pictures or videos if you wish, and simply allowing you and your family to enjoy those first unforgettable and beautiful moments with your new baby.
• I will visit you 3 days after delivery and will arrange other times that are suitable for you and your family for postpartum visit(s). This is an ideal time to reflect and talk about your birth experience and to assist you in areas of need (i.e., breastfeeding, meal prep, rest, etc.), if that is your choice.

The baby is here….now what? 

At CaliSis Doulas, we believe quality postpartum care is essential. Life with a newborn can be overwhelming. Your Postpartum and Infant Care Doula can help make the transition into parenthood easier. We are there to nurture the mother and the entire family as they transition into life with a newborn.

• Breastfeeding support
• Emotional and physical support to the new mother
• Light housekeeping so that mom does not feel so overwhelmed
• Running errands
• Assistance and hands on training with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding, comforting, skin care, etc.
• Baby soothing techniques
• Sibling care

• Two extended prenatal session (90 minutes each)
• All education and support materials
• Continued phone support throughout your pregnancy and birth
• Postpartum follow-up virtual visit (1.5 – 2 hours)
• Don’t need all of that? I also offer the option of one extended virtual prenatal appointment for only $150.

Regular, vegetarian, or vegan options of healthy, holistic, healing meals provided pre-natal and postpartum. All meals prepared homestyle by Karen, CaliSis Doulas founder.
